One family and a dream to reconnect with our roots.
ucovina has always been our home, even when our lives, careers, and growing families have taken us to faraway lands. As children, we picnicked in this valley—picking wild berries and mushrooms, building forts, and playing in the river.
Now, as adults, we return to rediscover the same sense of belonging and awe. FOX CHALET was born from a desire to honor the land of our childhood while enriching it with our lived experiences in sustainable construction and wellness.
We are deeply grateful to be stewards of this land and to share our passions with our guests—whether it’s spending a summer evening by the fire under an incredible sky, moving our bodies in the barn, or soaking in relaxation at the Tihna Spa House.
WONDER
During construction, a curious fox came to explore the site and left with a few gifts—first a wellie (a fancy name for a boot), and later, a pair of car keys.
What was the fox planning to do with them? We don’t know, but we do know that curiosity and discovery led her to this new structure on her land.
We borrow this land from the animals that inhabit it, and at FOX CHALET we strive to honor that relationship while fostering the same sense of curiosity.

At the heart of our understanding of growth and wellness is a commitment to creating pathways for change, discovery, and expansion—whether through a deeper appreciation of nature, new experiences or relationships, or a greater understanding of the self.
Whether your version of wellness is a glass of wine shared with a friend or meditation in the yoga barn, we are committed to offering you the possibility of checking out changed, even if just a little—to leave with more than you arrived with.
Growth is unpredictable and often emerges in unexpected ways, much like the reclaimed barnwood that now adorns the rooms at FOX CHALET. Until recently, it was a forgotten structure in a mountain village, carrying only the echoes of another time; today, it has become—just like you—something new: a gift for us and for our guests. GETTING HERE
FLYING
Suceava Airport (SCV) is 64.5 km from Fox Chalet, and the drive takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Iași Airport (IAS) is about 172 km away, with a driving time of approximately 3 hours.
BY TRAIN
The Vama and Frasin train stations are both about 15 minutes away (11 km).
Gura Humorului train station is 22 minutes away (16.5 km).
Câmpulung train station is 34 minutes away (26.2 km).
BY CAR
The city of Suceava is approximately 1 hour away (55 km). From Suceava, take E85 toward Gura Humorului.
After you reach Gura Humorului, drive approximately 5 km towards Câmpulung Moldovenesc and turn left toward the Salatruc Valley. The road becomes gravel.
After passing a monastery on your right, Fox Chalet will be shortly ahead on your right.
TRANSFER

CHECK IN/OUT
Your room will be ready at 3 PM on the day of arrival. We ask you to vacate your room by 10 AM on the day of departure. If you would like a late departure time, please contact us at contact@foxchalet.com ahead of time.
